Knowledge Mining involves parsing the application source code into various forms of metadata required for the transformation process, such as symbol tables, abstract syntax trees (ASTs), as well as control flow and data flow analysis metadata. This metadata provides the data structures with which Trinity's transformation team members work, providing a standard framework for sharing intermediate results and for implementing transformation functionality.
Depending on client needs, Knowledge Mining can also produce various forms of documentation for the legacy software, such as data dictionary, detailed flowcharts, CRUD analysis, symbol tables, where-defined and where-used analysis, and application overview diagrams.
